Upcoming APSO 2008 Conference in Barcelona 20, 21 October

We at EIG are currently involved in organising an Open Day on Wednesday 22: Tertúlies al Pati Llimona, see poster in Casillaño or Catalan. It will be in the Centre Cívic Pati Llimona


Programa:

17.30 h Debat: “El model de Hubbert i Cradle to Cradle”

”El secret de Hubbert (com funciona el model)”
Ugo Bardi, Professor de química a la Universitat de Florència, Itàlia. Membre del comitè científic d'ASPO i fundador i president de la secció italiana d'ASPO. Collaborador habitual de "The Oil Drum". Ha escrit diversos articles sobre models de consum de recursos; en particular, examinant la cacera de balenes el segle XIX i la producció de productes minerals.

“El disseny ecoeficaç”
Ignasi Cubiñà, Biòleg, amb una llarga experiència a la indústria alimentària, l’Ignasi és co-fundador i director d’EcoIntelligentGrowth, consultoria regenerativa inspirada en el paradigma del Cradle to Cradle (William McDonough i Michael Braungart).

19.30 h Taula rodona: “La Crisi de l’Energia”

- Collin Campbell, Geòleg i president honorari d’ASPO
- Mariano Marzo, Geòleg, professor de recursos energètics de la UB
- Pedro Prieto, Enginyer de telecomunicacions i vicepresident d’AEREN, ASPO a Espanya.

Urban food production site visit @ Raval

Robert Hughes´book Barcelona referrs to the fact that one of the reasons for the construction of the final city wall, which encircled the then new area of Raval, was to ensure that the city folk would have a secure food production zone, should there be a future crisis (war or siege)

We hope to visit Hort de sant pau del camp, a small food garden beside the hospital St Pau.
